October 29, 2026
A Texas Roadhouse opens at 8245 Moccasin Wallow Road on Nov. 23. A BayCare clinic with primary care, labs and imaging has been open a few miles west since mid-September. Manatee County's latest construction update says the newest section of four-lane road won't be finished until late 2026, and the section after it is scheduled for mid-2027. On this road, the businesses are arriving before the pavement is finished, and that gap will shape how the north side of Parrish works into 2027.
The opening dates and the construction schedule both move from west to east.
Moccasin Wallow Road runs about 6.5 miles from US 41 to US 301. Addresses climb from west to east, so the street numbers below also show where new businesses have opened, in rough order from the I-75 side toward Parrish.
| Address | Business | Status, mid-October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| 4925 Moccasin Wallow Rd | ABC Fine Wine & Spirits | Soft opening in April 2026 |
| 5015 Moccasin Wallow Rd | American Honey Creamery and Coffee Co. | Opened May 1, 2026 |
| 5131 Moccasin Wallow Rd | BODYBAR Pilates | Opened spring 2026 |
| 6620 Moccasin Wallow Rd | BayCare HealthHub | Opened Sept. 14, 2026 |
| 7320 Moccasin Wallow Rd | Chili's, Robinson Gateway | Planned, no date |
| 7725 Moccasin Wallow Rd | 7 Brew Coffee | Plans filed, no opening date |
| 8245 Moccasin Wallow Rd | Texas Roadhouse | Opens Nov. 23 |
The dates follow the addresses. The lowest street numbers opened in spring, the 6600 block opened in September, and the 8200 block opens before Thanksgiving. Most of the empty dates in the right-hand column belong to the eastern end.
The three spring openings sit close together in the 4900 and 5100 blocks, closer to I-75 and the Palmetto side of the corridor than to Parrish proper. According to the local news site Moccasin Wallow, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits had a soft opening in April. American Honey Creamery and Coffee Co. opened its new location on May 1, and BODYBAR Pilates celebrated its opening later that spring.
Those three businesses cover an ice cream stop, a fitness class and a wine run. They opened on a road that was being widened at the same time. That pattern repeats farther east.
A little farther along, Robinson Gateway, near the 71st Avenue East and Carter Road area, is the next cluster in line. The local tracker Palmarrish lists a McDonald's with a late-2026 target and a planned Chili's with no opening date. It also notes a Whataburger plan filed in October 2026, still without an opening date. Palmarrish's corridor-wide tracker puts the Chili's at 7320 Moccasin Wallow Road.
The season's biggest change on the corridor is medical. BayCare HealthHub (Manatee) opened Sept. 14 at 6620 Moccasin Wallow Road, offering primary and specialty care, lab work and imaging at one address.
Three weeks later, Manatee ER at Harrison Ranch began taking patients on Oct. 6 at 10820 U.S. 301 North. It's a freestanding emergency room open 24 hours a day. It isn't on Moccasin Wallow, but it opened on the same stretch of calendar. Within one month this fall, north Parrish gained a clinic with imaging and a 24-hour ER.
More medical space is in the pipeline. Palmarrish lists a medical office building at the Seaire shops as planned and under contract as of Oct. 13.
The Seaire shops sit on Moccasin Wallow Road at Sea Chase Avenue. As of Oct. 13, Palmarrish counted four of the center's twelve planned uses as open, and the open ones are mostly convenience businesses:
Texas Roadhouse is the only firm date in that list, and the company's own Parrish location page lists "Opens 11/23" with the 8245 Moccasin Wallow Road address. The Bradenton Herald reported earlier this year that 7 Brew filed plans for a 540-square-foot coffee stand with two drive-thru lanes at 7725 Moccasin Wallow Road.
For everyday life, Aldi is the one to watch, because a grocery store becomes a weekly stop. As of mid-October, the Aldi at Seaire had a Manatee County building permit and active construction but no announced opening date.
The county is widening the corridor in four segments, first from two lanes to four, with room left for an eventual six-lane buildout and a roundabout planned at US 301. According to the county project's Oct. 5, 2026 update, two segments are under active construction this fall.
| Segment 2 | Next segment in the update | |
|---|---|---|
| Length | About 1.8 miles | About 1.9 miles |
| Construction cost | $35 million | $43 million |
| Construction start | December 2024 | September 2025 |
| Completion target | Late 2026 | Mid-2027 |
Segment 2 runs from 115th Avenue East to just east of Bay Winds Parkway. Between Bay Winds Parkway and Grand River Parkway, traffic in both directions currently uses the newly built eastbound lanes while crews work on the north side. Once that work is done, westbound traffic will move to the new north-side lanes. Crews work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, and a reduced speed limit is in effect through the work zone.
On the next segment, the update says crossing utility connections may require temporary lane closures and traffic shifts. A future water main connection may also require a temporary water shutdown for nearby communities, with advance notice to residents before any planned interruption. For daily updates and contacts, the project team keeps current information at moccasinwallowroad.com.
The widening adds more than lanes, and that is where the business openings and the road project start to fit together. Segment 2 includes a 12-foot multi-use path on the north side, a 6-foot sidewalk on the south side, and 8-foot bike lanes in each direction. It also adds pedestrian-activated crossings, street lighting, and a new signalized intersection at Sawgrass Road. The next segment has the same 12-foot path and south-side sidewalk, 7-foot bike lanes, dedicated turn lanes, and new linear stormwater ponds along the road.
Median openings are planned for access to most residential communities along Segment 2. Once those openings, turn lanes and signals are in place, getting from a neighborhood entrance to a plaza driveway should take fewer U-turns than the temporary lane setup requires today.
Lined up together, the dates tell the story. Texas Roadhouse opens about a month before Segment 2's late-2026 target. Aldi and Chipotle are rising with no date set. The next stretch of road isn't due until mid-2027. Until then, the list of places to go along Moccasin Wallow will keep growing while the road to them is still under construction.
The corridor's openings share the season with Parrish's community events, several of them near Fort Hamer Road:
The Veterans Day parade falls on a Wednesday, a regular construction workday on Moccasin Wallow, so anyone driving to Fort Hamer that morning from the west side of the corridor should allow extra time through the work zones.
